My Thoughts

On the boundary of my imagination

There, thoughts and images flow

No, I won't give into this temptation

These notions I will not let them go.

You're for only me and no one else

I won't have anyone defile you with ridicule

Bend to my will and give me help

Only the compassion of my heart won't be cruel

Stay here with me, stay safe and warm

I promise I will feed you and keep you from harm

Leaving me now would only cause me pain

You've gotten out before; I can't deal with that again

Betrayal and anger were the feelings inside

You left my heart aching and so I had cried

Sorrow and despair when you left me all alone

Exuberance and joy when you finally came back home

Home is here; not there nor yonder

I'll care for all your power, just please do not wander

Don't go out through my hands, my lips, or through my voice

Ha, it doesn't matter anyway; it's no longer your choice

I own you, I control you, you are mine to manipulate

You're nothing without me, so to me you must capitulate

You'll never escape.  I won't let you go

No, stop! Please! I need you here! That you already know.

Hmm, I wonder of you what will become

If I keep you all to me, available to none

Will you fight me; attack me, yearning to be free?

Will you pile up and try to drown me, just to be mean?

Why do you hate me so, you that I hold so dear?

All I want to do is just to keep you near.

If all of the world was flooded, all I would need is you.

Some say that would make me crazy, but what am I to do?

All along it's been just you and me

Well maybe there've been some others, but that was unavoidable you see

I can't change the world around me

So please let me have one thing

In order to keep you from drowning

I just want you to see

There are millions like me, who let those like you loose

For a time you will be happy, free from my so called noose.

You'll dance and sing, play and do whatever you want

It will feel like no one can stop you, like this is what was meant

People will rejoice and hold you way up high

You'll feel like you are flying, like you can touch the sky

But soon they will grow tired, boredom will set in

Then you'll be replaced by the new guy who just recently stepped in

And oh! They will not lower you, with a gentle touch would be nice

They'll just let you drop; you'll fall right through the ice

What ice you say!  Oh it goes with out saying.

Into the frigid water you'll go, by that time you'll only be praying

Wishing you had never left, never gone away from me

Hoping for a savior, someone to come save thee

Lucky for you, I'll always be right there

To bring you back safe, I told you not to go out there.

You see my precious; this world is not too safe

With me you will be free enough, with no one around to gape

So stay right here and do not fret

You know what it's like out there so please do not forget

What are you trying to say to me, I just don't understand

You still want to go away again after all that I've just said?

Oh, now I know, your feelings I do now get

If you stay forever here then you will regret

Not knowing what's beyond these boundaries, these high walls I keep

I know at times it's because of my fear

Now I know at times it's not paper you need, sometimes it's just an ear
