It's definitely me.

Here I am chained and gagged
Eyes blindfolded, stark raving mad

Crouching alone in a tiny ball
Perpetually confined by these deathly close walls

Wrapped in a blanket, flannel and fleece
This place is warm, to say the least

Ten-inch steel enclosed by diamonds
Next comes brick and concrete; not really worth trying

It's not that I don't realize what is going on, I know that it shouldn't be this way.  I sort of want it to be diiferent, but I find comfort here somehow.  I think it is going to change one day but I always come back to the same place.  Somehow, someway, I think I've found this in me.  I can't be someone I'm not.  The blink of an eye is not enough to erase two decades.  Maybe it is, maybe something has yet to really hit me, but, until that day comes, this is where I find my peace.

If you close your eyes to it all, you'll never see the beauty.  If you lock yourself away, you will never taste the sweet kiss of romance, or feel the warm breath of true friendship, or be wrapped in the warmth of real human intimacy (in whatever form it may take).  You are far to young to just cast it all away.  Stupid girl.  Dreams may get you through the night but life happens when you are awake.  You ask honesty of 'this world', so mustn't you be the one to show if first?  Looks like it's time for you to stop pretending.  You are who you are.  Like what you ask for everyday, "Let your heart be true to your heart, let your soul be true to your soul..."  Stop the foolishness.  It's really unbecoming.

The insanity stops here.

No matter how hard I try, I just can't stay mad.  Oh well guess it's just not in me to hold a grudge.  Grrrr...aarhg,, ah see it's just not there.  Hmm, maybe it's because anger causes stress and stress makes you die faster...I don't think I'm quite ready to go yet.  Yeah, I think that's it.

Tap the breaks and just let it coast a little bit.  All this stopping and starting is heavy on the gas mileage, ya dig?

Nah, nah, it's never tooo late.  Maybe a lil later than it should have been, but never tooo late.

Right vs. Wrong ... What I say may not be what you believe at all
Up vs. Down, In vs. Out, Left vs. Right, Day vs. Night
All just terms of convention.

Overused but understated
So cliche but can always be related
The reason for so many clashes
Is because perfection is not something accepted by the masses

Variety and difference make up every branch of this tree

Like it or not we are of the same grain
Perpetually intertwined, we all must play this game
Who wins? Who loses? We do not make the rules

I always hear about taking baby steps toward some kind of goal or endgame .  It seems like overall, we as a whole, have always been taking baby steps.  We haven't gone very far at all.  When is it time to grow up?
